Description

The round whipray is a demersal stingray found in the Indo-Pacific, characterized by a rounded, flattened disc, a long, thin tail, and a generally brownish or grayish color. 

Behavior

They can be found in coastal bay waters, especially near the mouths of large rivers in the Indo-Malayan Peninsula. They generally prefer to stay at the bottom, hiding in the sand and feeding on fish or small shrimps there. 

Reproduction

 This species of ray reproduces via aplacental viviparity with lipid histotrophy, where embryos are nourished by yolk and uterine milk.
