Abudefduf vaigiensis

Description

They have a bluish-white body with five vertical bluish-black stripes on it, and a faded yellow color on the upper part. 

Behavior

They are generally found living in coral reef waters, tidal pools and rocky reefs at depths of 1 - 15 m, forming large groups to feed and guard their nests. 

Reproduction

Sergeant major fish are oviparous reef fish that reproduce through external fertilization, with males playing a key role in nest preparation and protection. 

Communicationc & Perception

They communicate through a combination of visual, acoustic, and behavioral signals, particularly during mating and territorial disputes.
