Description

The squaretail mullet is olive-brown on its back with silvery flanks and a white or yellowish belly. 

Behavior

These fish are highly gregarious and form large schools, frequently inhabiting mangrove areas, tidal creeks, and lagoons. They are often found in shallow, protected sandy shorelines. 

Reproduction

They are oviparous with pelagic eggs, often mating inshore and within estuaries.
