Boer's Batfish

Description

It is characterized by a golden color on the base of its tail and dorsal fin. It has a rounded head shape and are laterally flat, sometimes compared to a pancake. 

Behavior

Both juveniles and adults can be found living solitarily near the shore and in small shoals in outer reef waters. 

Reproduction

They are batch spawners that release numerous tiny, pelagic eggs into the open water column, typically at night, often coinciding with full moons.
