Description

Also known as Marble Jelly. It is characterized by its mushroom-like bell-shaped body and its eight short, wide, three-sided arms. There are small, fine granulations on its bell body. 

Behavior

They are commonly found in estuaries and coastal waters, where they feed on zooplankton. 

Reproduction

They reproduce through a complex, two-stage life cycle involving both sexual and asexual reproduction. Switching between a sedentary polyp form and a free-swimming medusa (adult) form. 

Communication & Perception

Because they lack a central nervous system, they have no way to engage in complex communication. These jellyfish interact with their environment and others of their species through chemical signaling, tactile sensation, and environmental responses
