Description

 The Wolf Cichlid is a massive, predatory fish characterized by a muscular, slender body designed for hunting. As one of the largest cichlid species, they are renowned for their aggressive appearance, which includes a large head, prominent, thick jaws, and visible, sharp canine-like teeth 

Behavior

Known for being extremely territorial and aggressive solitary hunters. They inhabit rivers and lakes and primarily hunt smaller fish and crustaceans. 

Reproduction

They reproduce through substrate spawning in the rivers and lakes of Central America, from Honduras to Costa Rica. Their aggression peaks during the breeding season. 

Communication & Perception

They communicate primarily through a combination of visual body language, subtle vibrations, and color changes. These methods are crucial for navigating their extreme territoriality
