Deskripsi

Its body is serpentine in shape, with a white to yellowish background color dotted with numerous black spots. These spots vary in size and shape depending on the individual and on the environment in which the animals live 

Perilaku

It inhabits reef flats and the outer slopes of continental reefs. It often lives in burrows with cleaner shrimp. The honeycomb eel is carnivorous, leaving its nest at night to actively hunt for prey along the reef. This species has a habit of rearranging rocks and sand.

Reproduksi

Honeycomb moray eels reproduce via external fertilization, generally in warm water, by releasing eggs and sperm into the water column. They are oviparous, with larvae spending months in a planktonic state before settling on reefs

They communicate primarily through visual signals and chemical cues, as they are solitary, nocturnal predators with limited social interaction. Their communication methods are focused on territory maintenance and symbiotic relationships
