Magnificent Rabbitfish

Habitat & Distribution :  Indo-Central Pacific Ocean 

Diet : Algae, small invertebrae

Lifespan : 5-10 years

Description

It can be recognized by its bold, two-tone white and black/brownbody , bright yellow accents, and a distinct black facial mask 

Behavior

They are generally peaceful, active grazer that acts as a timid, camouflaging fish when threatened, yet it can be territorial towards other rabbitfish 

Reproduction

Similar to other Siganidae species, they follow a lunar rhythm for spawning, with activity peaking around full or new moons. 

Communication & Perception

They communicate primarily through dramatic, rapid color changes and specialized behavioral displays used to signal danger, camouflage, or territorial aggression
