Decription

A medium-to-large marine eel identified by its dark brown to black body covered in narrow, vertical white or cream bands, resembling a zebra.

Behavior

They are shy, nocturnal, and generally peaceful reef dwellers that hides in crevices, often showing only its head.

Reproduction

Zebra morays are oviparous, protogynous hermaphrodites that reproduce via external fertilization, releasing eggs and sperm into the water column.
