Description

It is characterized by a mottled brown/yellow body, a dark, purple-grey head, and a distinctive dark brown blotch at the gill opening

Behavior

They are solitary, and primarily nocturnal ambush predator found in coral reefs. They are known for being bold and curious, often residing in rocky crevices with only their heads protruding. While shy, they can be aggressive if provoked or when hunting

Reproduction

Yellow edged moray eels reproduce via external fertilization, where males and females release eggs and sperm into the water column, often in during warmer water temperatures
