Deskripsi

A small, slender, snake-like fish with a diameter of about 10 mm. It is characterized by a vibrant orange-to-yellow body with distinct white bands, large eyes, and a small, delicate head.

Perilaku

They live in large, dense colonies on sandy, current-swept sea floors. They remain anchored in individual burrows, sticking out to sway in the current and feed on zooplankton. They are highly timid, retreating into their burrows instantly at the slightest sign of danger

Reproduksi

They are pelagic spawners that reproduce through external fertilization, with pairs entwine their upper bodies while anchoring their tails in sand burrows, often at night. They release buoyant, fertilized eggs into the current, which then hatch into planktonic larvae before settling into the seabed as juveniles
