Description

Talbot's damselfish can be identified by its purple body, yellowish head and a black spot at the base of its dorsal fin

Behavior

Compared to other damsel fish, the Talbot's damsel fish are relatively less aggressive but can still be quite territorial.

Reproduction

These fish lay eggs that are adhesive so they can stick on substrate. The eggs are then guarded by the males and will hatch in 3-5 days.

Communication & Perception

They primarily communicate through visual signals, territorial displays and chemical cues

Predator

Moray eels, lionfish, snappers, groupers and other larger predatory fish.
