Description

It is known for its striking, high-contrast, tiger-like pattern. 

Behavior

Ambush predators known for their vertical black stripes and "hovering" behavior. They are territorial and solitary as adults, preferring to hide among submerged roots and branches, but can be social as juveniles 

Reproduction

Typically spawning in large rivers during the rainy season, with females releasing thousands of adhesive eggs on submerged vegetation or roots. 

Communication & Perception

They communicate primarily through visual cues and territorial behaviors, particularly as they mature into solitary adults
